Reproductive System of Hydroids
Hydroids reproduce almost exactly like jellyfish. They can reproduce asexually or sexually. Hydroids are polypoids. They reproduce like jellyfish polyps, except they don't detach. They just stay as one colony. A hydroid can reproduce sexually as well. Just like jellyfish, they can grow grooves and create a medusoid form. This medusoid is very similar to a jellyfish and it reproduces like one too. The males release sperm into the ocean, and the females get pregnant from the sperm entering her mouth. She will get pregnant and release a planula that will create a new hydroid.
